Berwick TEC

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE TEC ARE SPECIALIST SKILLS AREAS DESIGNED AS 'WORLDS OF WORK' TO SIMULATE REAL LIFE CONDITIONS

 Study in Health and Community

When you study in Health and Community at the TEC the learning and doing takes place in purpose designed specialist skills rooms and laboratories, in modern classrooms with interactive technology, on community projects and on work experience with an employer.

Nursing Simulation Laboratory

The Nursing laboratory, with patient simulators, is truly state-of-the-art. In the laboratory, teachers operating out of a control and observation room can program realistic medical situations, building on students' training with intensive practise. The facilities are second to none for learning high level specialist skills required for vital Nursing roles.

Allied Health Training Room

The Allied Health training room has all the specialist equipment you need to develop skills to set you on the path to be an Allied Health Assistant to work alongside Occupational and Physiotherapists or similar Health industry career. You learn technical skills using top class facilities including treatment couches, exercise bikes, training steps, walking bars and a wide range of occupational and mobility equipment. You then combine the practical skills with the 'human touch' – skills like client service and communication.

Children's Services Room

The Children's Services room is a wonderful space for learning how to care for and nurture babies and young children. The room is set up for children's activities and includes large work benches, drawing easels, woodworking equipment, food preparation facilities and washing areas. The room also opens to an outdoor play area.
All in all, this is a great place to learn how to set up an engaging experience for the young ones in our community.
